About us

Bank of Scotland and its subsidiary companies has been part of the motor industry since 1948 when North West Securities Limited was incorporated.

A decade of expansion and investment followed and in 1958 North West Securities Limited became a wholly-owned subsidiary of Bank of Scotland.

In 1963 company assets rose to £7.8m and the company was at the start of a four decade period of acquisition of smaller finance houses. Positioning itself as a progressive and innovative company, trading on a prompt and trustworthy approach.

Expansion continued with the motor finance business building through the 60s and 70s. The first manufacturer relationship started with Volkswagen Motors in 1970 followed by Renault UK in 1975.

Through the 1980s new marketing initiatives helped NWS Group to surge forward and it began to overtake its rivals, fine tuning its expertise in its chosen markets.

In 1997 the Capital Bank name was adopted, remaining until 2007.

Today Bank of Scotland Dealer Finance is part of Bank of Scotland's Corporate division (part of the HBOS Group).

Bank of Scotland Dealer Finance headquarters are based in Speke, Liverpool and supported by a network of account managers across the UK.
